Histiopteris incisa (Batwing Fern) is a species of perennial herb in the family Dennstaedtiaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to GoiáS, Rio De Janeiro, Puerto Rico, Roraima, Amazônia, Santa Catarina, Paraná, Espirito Santo, Rio Grande Do Sul, Bahia, Mata Atlântica, SãO Paulo, Minas Gerais, and Pacific Basin excluding Hawaii. They have compound, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 1.9 m. They have alternation of generations.
