They are native to GoiáS, Sergipe, Maranhao, Rio De Janeiro, Ceará, Alagoas, Caatinga, Cerrado, Mato Grosso, ParaíBa, Bahia, SãO Paulo, Rio Grande Do Sul, Acre (Brazil), Pará, Mata Atlântica, Paraná, Minas Gerais, Santa Catarina, Distrito Federal, Amazônia, Tocantins, RondôNia, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Espirito Santo, Rio Grande Do Norte, Piauí, and Pernambuco. They have compound, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 15 m.
