Maytenus boaria is a species of shrub in the family Celastraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Santa Catarina, Rio Grande Do Sul, Rio De Janeiro, Paraná, Pampa, Mata Atlântica, and Minas Gerais. They have simple, broad leaves and loculicidal capsule fruit. Individuals can grow to 20 m.
