This juvenile made its first appearance on the 26th September. Its mother disappeared in early June to a hollow and remained out of sight until early September.

This was the tamest owl I have ever seen. Even after I found him with the flash light,he just sat there and let me get extremely close,up to 4 feet away, and he wasn't going anywhere. After I left he proceeded to serenade my camp for the rest of the night until dawn,with an occasional Elf Owl chiming in just for variety,and some Coyotes Howling too a couple times.The nights in the desert are awesome!
