Plecia nearctica (Lovebug) is a species of flies in the family march flies. They are native to The Neotropics. They visit flowers of climbing hempvine, gopher apple, Chinese privet, and coral vine. They are diurnal herbivores. They have parental care (female provides care). They rely on flight to move around.
