Xyris savanensis is a species of herb in the family Xyridaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Distrito Federal, Alagoas, GoiáS, Paraná, Rio De Janeiro, Ceará, Mato Grosso, Cerrado, Rio Grande Do Norte, AmazôNia, Rio Grande Do Sul, Acre (Brazil), Espirito Santo, Mato Grosso Do Sul, SãO Paulo, Maranhao, Pará, ParaíBa, Santa Catarina, Pernambuco, Caatinga, Sergipe, Minas Gerais, RondôNia, Piauí, Roraima, Amapá, Bahia, Tocantins, Mata Atlântica, and Pantanal. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Flower Flies, Honey bee, Augochloropsis callichroa, and Anthidium.
