Balanophyllia elegans (Lowridge Cactus Coral) is a species of cnidarians in the family dendrophylliid corals . They are listed in cites appendix ii. Dead Lowridge Cactus Coral form shallow marine sediments. They are solitary. They have asexual reproduction, alternation of generations, and sexual reproduction. They have parental care (brooding). They are sessile animals.

Definition: Appendix II lists species that are not necessarily now threatened with extinction but that may become so unless trade is closely controlled.
