TYPE LOCALITY.—“Eagle's Nest” (= Lost Sink or Eagle Hole), 4.0 miles (5.4 km) northwest of the junction of U.S. Highway 19 and State Road 50 (NE 1/4, NE 1/4, SW 1/4, Sec. 21, T. 22S, R. 17E), Hernando County, Florida.
RANGE.—Known from only six localities in Hernando and Pasco counties, Florida.
HABITAT.—Subterranean waters.

Procambarus lecontei er en art av ferskvannskreps innenfor den artsrike slekten Procambarus, og tilhører underslekten Ortmannicus som har en ganske stor utbredelse nord-sør i USA fra de store sjøene og Appalachene gjennom Midtvesten ned mot Mexico.
Arten hører videre under familien Cambaridae (orden Reptantia) blant tifotkrepsene. Procambarus lecontei er en av anslagsvis 160 arter i slekten Procambarus.
