A mound building ant with similar habits and importance of invicta Buren. May have been more widespread in U. S. until the introduction of invicta which may have replaced richteri in many localities.

Solenopsis pylades was synonomized by Trager (1991) with S. xyloni , a North American species. May be a misidentification of S. macdonaghi or S. saevissima .

Mit Über-gängen zur var. incrassata Forel und var. Richteri Forel . Das [queen][variier]t von 7-8,5 mm, das [[male]] von 5,3 - 6,2 mm.
