Description

Woody climber or scrambling shrub, up to c. 4 m tall. Bark shiny reddish-brown; branchlets at opposite right angles or even bending backwards, forming climbing aids. Leaves crowded near the ends of branchlets, oblanceolate to narrowly obovate, 2-7.5 cm, long, leathery, hairless, narrowly tapering down the petiole; margin often rolled under; petiole short, 1-4 mm. Flowers in axillary and terminal heads, white with reflexed corolla lobes and protruding style. Fruit fleshy, round, c. 5 mm in diameter, white to black when ripe.
