Coutarea hexandra is a species of tree in the family Rubiaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Santa Catarina, GoiáS, Caatinga, Pará, Ceará, Paraná, Pernambuco, Amazônia, Amapá, SãO Paulo, Roraima, Mato Grosso, Piauí, Alagoas, Sergipe, Cerrado, Espirito Santo, Rio Grande Do Norte, Mata Atlântica, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Minas Gerais, Tocantins, ParaíBa, Distrito Federal, RondôNia, Maranhao, Rio Grande Do Sul, Rio De Janeiro, Bahia, and Acre (Brazil). They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 9.3 m.
