Sporobolus indicus (Smut Grass) is a species of annual grass in the family true grasses. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Minas Gerais, Cerrado, Pampa, Ceará, U.S. Virgin Islands, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Maranhao, ParaíBa, Bahia, US Minor Outlying Islands, Pantanal, Amapá, Puerto Rico, Santa Catarina, Rio De Janeiro, Caatinga, Espirito Santo, Pernambuco, Paraná, Pará, Rio Grande Do Sul, Sergipe, Roraima, Alagoas, Rio Grande Do Norte, Mato Grosso, Distrito Federal, SãO Paulo, GoiáS, Amazônia, and Mata Atlântica. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 0.3 m.
