Cyperus rotundus (Nutgrass) is a species of perennial herb in the family sedges. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to ParaíBa, Sergipe, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Roraima, Ceará, Espirito Santo, Alagoas, Paraná, GoiáS, Mata Atlântica, Distrito Federal, Mato Grosso, Amazônia, Tocantins, Bahia, RondôNia, Pará, Caatinga, Pernambuco, Rio Grande Do Norte, Cerrado, SãO Paulo, Amapá, Maranhao, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande Do Sul, Minas Gerais, Piauí, Rio De Janeiro, and Acre (Brazil). They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 0.68 m.
