Sosticus is a genus of ground spiders that was first described by R. V. Chamberlin in 1922.^[3]

Distribuzione

Le 10 specie note di questo genere sono state reperite nella regione olartica e in India: la specie dall'areale più vasto è la S. loricatus, rinvenuta in diverse località dell'intera regione olartica^[1].

Tassonomia

Considerato un sinonimo anteriore di Sostogenus Chamberlin & Gertsch, 1940, a seguito di un lavoro degli aracnologi Platnick & Shadab (1976b)^[1].

Le specie rinvenute in India dovrebbero essere riesaminate: probabilmente vanno fatte rifluire in altro genere^[1].

Non sono stati esaminati esemplari di questo genere dal 2007^[1].

Morfoloji

Cins teşhis karakteri (Türkiye için) : Arka sıra gözler hafif dış bükey;dir. Opisthosoma (cephalothorax) desensiz olup sarımsı kahverengi sade renktedir^[1].

Yayılımı

Türlerinin çoğu Hindistan'da endemiktir. Tek türü Holarktik bölgede, iki türü de ABD'de dağılım gösterir.
