Description

Laxly branched erect annual herb, up to c. 25 cm tall. Branches pinkish red, hairless. Leaves opposite, linear-lanceolate, up to 2.5 cm long, hairless; margin entire. Stipules small but divided into 3-5 linear teeth. Flowers terminal and axillary, solitary, with 4 white or pink, petal-like appendages. Capsule 3-lobed, c. 2.5 mm in diameter, hairless, exserted on a recurved pedicel. See E. eylesii for comparison.
