Die Palawan-Zwergohreule (Otus fuliginosus) ist eine Eulenart aus der Gattung der Zwergohreulen.
Die sehr kleine Eule wird 19 bis 20 Zentimeter lang. Das Gefieder ist kräftig braun mit Kritzeln und Flecken, am Scheitel und Nackenband dunkler braun. Die Außenfahnen der Schulterfedern bilden ein auffälliges weißes Band. Die Unterseite ist rötlich braun mit pfeilförmigen schwärzlichen Strichen. Im dunklen Gesicht fallen die weißlichen Augenbrauen auf. Die Augen sind blass orangebraun, die Federohren kurz, der Schnabel ist hell bräunlich. Die Beine sind bis zum Ansatz der gelblich grauen Zehen befiedert, die Krallen dunkel hornfarben.
Sie bewohnt tropischen Tieflandwald und sekundäres Waldland, auch Plantagen mit Bäumen. Die Nahrung bilden vorwiegend Insekten. Die Stimme ist ein schnarchendes, zweisilbiges krarr-kruarr, das in Abständen von vier bis fünf Sekunden wiederholt wird.
Die Art lebt endemisch auf der philippinischen Insel Palawan. Sie ist selten und gilt nach BirdLife International als gefährdet.

EBird describes the bird as "A fairly small owl of lowland forest. Dark brown above with a white bar behind the shoulder, and paler and warmer brown below with black marks. Note the wide, shallow V-shape stretching from between the eyes out to the ends of the prominent ear tufts, and the dark facial shield incompletely bordered with white below. Eyes are deep orange. Similar to Mantanani Scops-Owl, which only occurs on small offshore islands off Palawan, but differs in eye color. Voice is a low rasping croak, 'gruk grrrrrrrrr'."[3]
Its habitat is in tropical moist lowland primary and secondary forest and even mixed cultivated areas – as long as there are still trees.[4]
IUCN has assessed this bird as near threatened with the population being estimated at 10,000 to 19,999 mature individuals remaining. This species' main threat is habitat loss with wholesale clearance of forest habitats as a result of legal and illegal logging, mining and conversion into farmlands through slash-and-burn or other methods.

De palawandwergooruil (Otus fuliginosus) is een vogelsoort uit de familie Strigidae (uilen). De palawandwergooruil komt alleen voor in de Filipijnen.
De palawandwergooruil werd in de jaren 1970 door sommige auteurs nog als ondersoort van de Indische dwergooruil (O. bakkamoena) beschouwd, maar wordt sinds de eeuwwisseling op alle relevante soortenlijsten als soort (zonder ondersoorten) beschouwd.
De soort komt alleen voor op het eiland Palawan en de nabijgelegen eilanden Alabagin en Balabac. Het is een vogel van laaglandregenwoud, maar hij kan zich redelijk aanpassen aan cultuurlandschap.
Er zijn aanwijzingen dat de populatie achteruitgaat door ontbossingen en dat de populatie ook kwetsbaar is omdat de palawanuilen binnen slechts een klein gebied voorkomen. Daarom staat deze dwergooruil als gevoelig op de internationale Rode Lijst van de IUCN.[1]
