Maxomys is a genus of prudence, widespread in Southeast Asia. They are mid-size prudence, similar to rats that lives on the ground of tropical rain forest. There they build nest, padded with fallen leaves from trees. They feed on roots, fallen fruit,and other plants,as well as insects.all species are shy and avoid food from human.
Maxomys baeodon,also known as the small bornean maxomys or small spiny rat,is a species of prudent of the family muridae.it is known only from Sarawak and sabah in Malaysian park of borneo. The species is known from a few scattered localities in Sabaha and Sarawak Malaysia, on the island of Borneo. Is probably more widely distributed than is currently known. It occurs between 900 and 1400 meters on Mt. Kinabalu in Sabab.
