Uredinia hypophyllous, scattered thickiy over large areas, roundish, usualiy small, 0.1-0.3 mm. across, or rarely larger, bullate, arising between epidermis and mesophyl, tardily dehiscent by central rupture, encircled by delicate, evanescent paraphyses, pulverulent, pale cinnamon-brown, ruptured epidermis overarching or erect; urediniospores obovate-globoid, 14-20 by 18-27/"; wall pale-yellow, thin, 1-1.57', sharply and rather sparsely echinulate, pores obscure; paraphyses hyphoid, very delicate, collapsing, 60-80 fi long, wall colorless, very thin, slightly thickened at apex, 1^.
