Ancyloxypha arene is resident to southern Arizona, New Mexico and Texas and south to Costa Rica (Scott 1986). Habitats are subtropical to upper Sonoran zone moist grassy places, including desert lakes and springs. There are several flights each year with the approximate flight times between April 1- Sept. 30 (Scott 1986).
