General Description

Colonies. With a daily growth rate of 3-4 mm, with a sparse aerial mycelium, without distinct exudates. Ascomata. Maturing within 9 days, greenish grey or dark olivaceous in reflected light, superficial, spherical or ovate, ostiolate, 100-135 μm, with a brown wall of angular, thick walled, 6-10 μm; ascomatal hairs flexuous, straight, of variable lengths, occasionally recurved, thick-walled, septate, brown, smooth, rarely slightly punctulate, 2.5-3.5 μm thick near the base. Asci. Fasciculate, clavate or obovate, stalked, 8-spored, evanescent, 25-36 × 9-14 μm. Ascospores. Ellipsoidal or ovate, with attenuated ends, brown when mature, 8-9.5 × 5.5-6.5 μm, at one end with a distinct germ pore surrounded by a darkened wall. Paraphyses. Not observed.
