Pileus membranous, convex to plane, umbonate, 3-6 mm. broad; surface reddishwhite, becoming darker in dried plants, margin sparingly sulcate: lamellae free with a collar, equal, distant, whitish: spores 9 X 4.5 m: stipe capillary, tough, black or pallid at the apex, glabrous, shining.
Type locality: France.
Habitat: Dead grass.
Distribution: Temperate North America; also in Europe.
