Gasteropelecus sternicla (Common Hatchetfish) is a species of ray-finned fishes in the family freshwater hatchetfishes. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to The Neotropics. Individuals can grow to 3.9 cm. They have sexual reproduction. They rely on swimming to move around.
