About 10 to 14 mm in length. Orange, yellow (rarely), or red dorsal side with black membrane. Ventral side is orange or red and may be fasciated with black. Appendages are brownish black. Rostrum is very long; in females, it reaches the fifth or sixth abdominal segment and in males, it reaches the fifth abdominal segment.
