Salmo trutta (Brown Trout) is a species of ray-finned fishes in the family Salmonidae. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Caspian Sea, Asia, The Netherlands, Isle Of Man, Greece, Northern Africa, Denmark, Afghanistan, Portugal, Estonia, Norway, Finland, mediterranean region, Belgium, Iran, Latvia, Ireland, Iceland, Armenia, the Palearctic, Poland, Lithuania, Slovakia, Turkey, Western Asia, Russia, Canada, Romania, United Kingdom, Sweden, North Atlantic, Aral Sea, Europe, Germany, Spain, Australia, Amudar'ya River, France, Mediterranean Sea, Iberian Coastal, and Italy. They are diurnal carnivores. Individuals can grow to 140 cm. They have sexual reproduction. They have parental care (female provides care). They rely on swimming and sub-carangiform to move around.
