Lateral line complete; 1 scale row between lateral line and pelvic-fin origin; 13-14 predorsal scales; dorsal-fin origin behind insertion of last pelvic-fin ray; distance between dorsal-fin origin and middle of caudal-fin base equal to distance between middle of eye and dorsal-fin origin; dark lateral stripe from upper extremity of gill-opening to caudal-fin base, more intense posteriorly, continued on caudal fin by a small black spot at base of median rays; dorsolateral stripe present, separated from dark lateral stripe by narrow light lateral stripe; 1.5-2 scales along dorsal midline between base of last dorsal-fin ray and vertical through anal-fin origin; caudal fin light yellow in life, with a very thin posterior dark margin (Ref. 36949).
