Trematocara nigrifrons is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van de cichliden (Cichlidae).^[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1906 door Boulenger.

Pode ser encontrada nos seguintes países: Burundi, República Democrática do Congo, Tanzânia e Zâmbia.
