Pot arribar a fer 21 cm de llargària màxima (normalment, en fa 14,1).^[5]^[6]^[7]

Hàbitat

És un peix d'aigua dolça, demersal i de clima subtropical (10°C-22°C; 41°N-29°N).^[5]^[8]

Distribució geogràfica

Es troba a Nord-amèrica: des del riu Hudson (Nova York) fins al riu St. Johns (Florida).^[5]

Observacions

És inofensiu per als humans.^[5]
