Body depth 15.9-17.9 %SL; anterior nostril pierced on front side of a flap; processus dentiformis present; no median notch in upper lip, lower lip with a median incision; lower jaw with a median notch; lateral line complete; caudal peduncle with dorsal and ventral adipose keels, length 16.2-17.7 %SL, depth 12.8-14.2 %SL, 1.14-1.35 times in length; anus about 1-2 eye-diameters in front of anal-fin origin; 8.5 branched dorsal-fin rays; 5.5 branched anal-fin rays; caudal fin emarginate, with 9+8 branched rays; axillary pelvic lobe present; top of head vermiculated, cheeks dotted; body with 9-13 bars, wider than interspaces, wider anteriorly than posteriorly; black bar at caudal-fin base usually complete; dorsal-fin base with a blackish band, with a hyaline (orange in life) spot (Ref. 36949).

Schistura clatrata is a species of ray-finned fish in the stone loach genus Schistura. It occurs in the Kong River basin in southern Laos. It was found in several sites within rapids with stony bottoms on two separate surveys in 1999 and 2009.[1]
