Diagnosis: mouth inferior; two pairs of well-developed barbels, anterior pair 0.67, posterior pair 0.9x eye diameter; last simple ray of dorsal fin ossified at base, not serrated, measuring 1.05-1.17 times head length; 27-30 scales in lateral line; known from Equatorial Guinea and Gabon (Ref. 81639).Description: medium-sized species; lips moderately developed; scales with parallel striae; scale formula: 4.5/27-30/4.5/2.5-3/12; D: III-IV, 8-10; A: III, 5; P: 15-16; V: 9; lateral line complete (Ref. 81639).Coloration: ground color silvery grey, yellow ventrally; scales with dark basal marking forming a reticulated pattern; fins black (Ref. 81639).
