Differs from all other species of the genus in Indochina by the following combination of characters: a complete black bar at caudal-fin base; adults with 11-15 dark bars on body regularly shaped and set wider than interspaces, not forming dark blotches along lateral line and usually meeting their homologues on postdorsal part of the body; predorsal part of back sometimes marbled by irregular spots and saddles; inner anal stripe faint; caudal fin slightly emarginate; pelvic fin origin slightly anterior to dorsal fin origin or below simple dorsal-fin rays (Ref. 40772).

Schistura sokolovi

Schistura sokolovi is a species of ray-finned fish, a stone loach, in the genus Schistura from Vietnam. It occurs in medium-sized to small streams with a current and riffles, over gravel and sandy substrates.[1] The specific name honours the Russian zoologist Vladimir Evgenievich Sokolov (1928-1988) for his contribution to the knowledge of the zoology of central Vietnam.[3]
