Diagnosis: mouth inferior, lips moderately developed, lower lip continuous; two pairs of well-developed barbels, anterior pair shorter than posterior pair, which are as long as or longer than eye diameter; last simple ray of dorsal fin very strong and ossified, not serrated, measuring 0.6-1 times head length; lower jaw not reaching to anterior margin of eye; 30-35 scales in lateral line (Ref. 81639).Description: large species; scales longitudinally striated; scale formula: 4.5-5.5/30-35/4.5/2.5-3/12; D: III-IV, 8-10; A: III, 5; P: 17; V: 10; lateral line complete; dorsal fin with concave border (Ref. 81639). Coloration: ground color olive dorsally, white ventrally; scales with black border; fins dark, orange proximally; pelvic and anal fins with yellow or orange distal margin (Ref. 81639).
