Schistura kloetzliae Kottelat 2000

Anterior nostril pierced on front side of a flap; processus dentiformis present; both lips finely pleated; upper lip with a median incision, lower lip interrupted medially, lateral line almost complete; anus about 1-2 eye diameters in front of anal-fin origin; 8.5 branched dorsal-fin rays; 5.5 branched anal-fin rays; caudal fin emarginate, with 8+8 branched rays; axillary pelvic lobe present; body pale yellowish brown, with 6 large black blotches along lateral line, superimposed over a greyish axial stripe, each of them connected with blotches along dorsal midline; blotches on dorsal midline more or less connected to each other to form an irregular stripe; a black bar shortly in front of extremity of caudal peduncle; a short black bar on lower half of caudal-fin base; a black spot near base of uppermost 3 principal rays; two vertical rows of black spots on caudal-fin rays; one row of spots on dorsal-fin rays, one row of faint spots on anal and pectoral-fin rays (Ref. 36949).

Schistura kloetzliae is a species of cyprinid fish in the family stone loach. It has been recorded from the Mengla drainage in Yunnan and its tributary Nam Youan in Luang Namtha province in Laos. It occurs in medium fast currents in streams with gravel or stony bottoms. The specific name honours Antoinette Kottelat-Kloetzli, for her help and support of Maurice Kottelat during his work in Laos, among other things.

Schistura kloetzliae can reach 5 cm (2.0 in) in standard length.
