Diagnosis: mouth inferior or subinferior; lips moderately developed, lower lip continuous; two pairs of well-developed barbels of about equal length of 0.67-0.75x eye diameter; lower jaw not reaching to anterior margin of eye; 29-30 scales in lateral line; last simple ray of dorsal fin ossified, not serrated, measuring 0.8x HL; snout 3.5-3.75x HL; length caudal peduncle 1-1.2x its height (Ref. 81639). Description: medium-sized species; scales with parallel striae; scale formula: 4.5/29-30/4.5/2.5/12; D: IV, 9-10; A: III, 5-6; P: 16; V: 10; lateral line complete (Ref. 81639). Coloration: ground color metallic brown, darker dorsally, paler ventrally; scales with dark margins; fins grey-brown (Ref. 81639).
