Erect or scrambling, much-branched, aromatic annual herb, up to c. 1 m tall. Stems with glossy white hairs and scattered stalked glands. Leaves opposite, ovate-oblong, up to 10 cm long, almost hairless above, hairy below; petiole up to 22 mm long; margin entire or slightly crenate. Flowers in a rather narrow branched inflorescence 10-20 cm long. Corolla 2-lipped, blue to purple, 30-40 mm long, finely hairy on the outside; lower lip, 3-lobed, 20-25 mm long, with long stiff hairs in the middle. Capsule 13-18 mm long, finely glandular-hairy in the apical half.
