Adults inhabit large streams and rivers (Ref. 41236). Also found in tanks, canals, ponds, beels and inundated fields (Ref. 4832, 94287). Primarily feed on plankton and detritus, but may also take in mud, vegetables, crustaceans and insect larvae (Ref. 4832, 94287).
