Small trees, shrubs or suffrutices, unarmed. Leaves 2-pinnate; rhachis eglandular. Inflorescences of axillary spike-like racemes, solitary or clustered. Calyx with 5 teeth. Petals 5, free. Stamens 10. Anthers with a caducous apical gland. Pod straight or ± curved; at maturity the valves separating from the persistent margins, the outer layer of the pod wall often peeling off the inner layer, the layers remaining intact or breaking irregularly. Seeds ± flattened.
