A shrub 2-3 m tall, young branches and inflorescence with stellate escence. Leaves ovate or ovate-lanceolate, long acuminate, serrate, glabrous above, pubescent on the nerves beneath, membranous, lateral nerves 5-6 pairs, conspicuous, ending in the points of teeth, usually undivided, only the lowest pair with strong branches on the outside. Flowers c. 3 mm long, in terminal long-stalked. umbellate corymbs. Bracts 2-3 mm long, linear, pubescent, caducous. Calyx pubescent. Corolla rotate, tube shorter than lobes, c. 1 mm long, lobes spreading, pubescent. Drupe c. 5 mm long, broadly oblong, slightly compressed. Seeds 2-grooved on both surfaces.
