Plants annual, ca. 50 cm tall, glabrous. Stem simple, long naked in lower part, robust, laxly leafy in upper part. Leaves alternate; petiole 3-5 cm; leaf blade ovate, 6-10 × 3-4 cm, membranous, without or with basal glands, both surfaces glabrous, setose between teeth, lateral veins 5-7 pairs, base rounded or cuneate, margin coarsely crenate, apex caudate-acuminate. Inflorescences 1-flowered; peduncles very short. Pedicels with bracts subulate. Flowers white, ca. 3 cm wide. Lateral sepals 2, orbicular, 1-2 cm wide, 7-veined, abaxial midvein acutely carinate. Lower sepal funnelform, ca. 3 cm deep, narrowed into a 2-lobed, incurved spur ca. 1/2 as long as limb; mouth oblique, broad, tip acuminate. Upper petal orbicular, cornute, abaxial midvein broadly thickened, cristate; lateral united petals broadly clawed, ca. 2.7 cm, 2-lobed; basal lobes orbicular, apex narrowed, involute, long mucronulate for ca. 4 cm; distal lobes broadly dolabriform, ca. 2 × as large as basal lobes; auricle inflexed, large. Filaments short; anthers obtuse. Ovary striate, narrow. Capsule unknown. Fl. Aug-Sep.
