Plants annual, 20-40 cm tall, glabrous. Stem erect, slender, simple, long naked basally, internodes 3-7 cm. Leaves alternate; petiole 0.3-1 cm; leaf blade gray-green abaxially, dark green adaxially, ovate-lanceolate, 3-5 × 2-2.5 cm, with 1(or 2) pair(s) of basal glands, lateral veins 4 or 5 pairs, curved, midvein and lateral veins conspicuous abaxially, base acute, attenuate into petiole, margin serrulate, teeth mucronulate, apex acuminate. Inflorescences in upper leaf axils, 2-flowered; peduncles erect, 1-1.5 cm, fibrous. Pedicels ca. 1 cm, elongate at fruiting, bracteate at middle; bracts persistent, very small. Flowers yellow, very small, ca. 1 cm deep. Lateral sepals 2, ovate, minute, shorter than 1 mm, thick, abaxial midvein thickly cristate, margin sparsely denticulate on one side, apex cuspidate. Lower sepal funnelform or cup-shaped, to 1 cm, gradually narrowed into an incurved spur ca. 2.5 cm; mouth vertical, ca. 5 mm wide, tip obtuse. Upper petal oblate, ca. 1 cm wide, abaxial midvein cristate; lateral united petals not clawed, short, 1.3-1.5 cm, 2-lobed; basal lobes orbicular, small; distal lobes reflexed, obovate-orbicular or lunar; auricle inflexed. Filaments very short; anthers obtuse. Ovary fusiform. Capsule not seen. Fl. Oct.
