Plants annual, 40-50 cm tall, slender, glabrous, laxly branched, or simple. Stem basally long naked. Leaves alternate; petiole 1-2 cm; leaf blade pale green abaxially, dark green adaxially, ovate-lanceolate or lanceolate, 5-8 × 2-2.5 cm, membranous, often with 2 basal glands, lateral veins 6-8 pairs, base acute, attenuate into petiole, margin crenate, teeth mucronulate, apex acuminate. Inflorescences in upper leaf axils, 1-flowered; peduncles spreading, 5-7 cm, slender. Pedicels bracteate above middle; bracts caducous, ovate, 3-4 mm, margin nearly entire or denticulate, apex long aristate-acuminate. Flowers pink-purple, 3-4 cm deep. Lateral sepals 2, subovate, ca. 7 mm, margin inconspicuously denticulate, apex acuminate, abaxial midvein thickened. Lower sepal navicular, 1.3-1.5 cm deep, gradually narrowed into an incurved spur; spur ca. 1.8 cm, slender; mouth oblique, tip acute. Upper petal orbicular, ca. 1.3 cm in diam., base deeply cordate, apex with a flat, stout rostellum (beak) ca. 5 mm, abaxial midvein thickened; lateral united petals ± clawed, 1.8-2 cm, 2-lobed; basal lobes oblong, small; distal lobes oblong, large, apex rounded; auricle inflexed. Filaments short, broad; anthers acuminate. Ovary erect, fusiform. Capsule striate, narrowly linear, ca. 2.5 cm. Seeds few, brown, oblong, compressed, 3-5 mm, slightly rugose. Fl. Aug.
