Lithostege buxtoni Prout, 1920

Taxonomy. This species belongs to the “buxtoni group” (sensu Rajaei Sh. et al, 2011). This species group consists of following taxa:

Lithostege buxtoni Prout, 1920; Lithostege stadiei Lehmann, 2011; Lithostege obliquata Urbahn, 1971

The members of this group are characterized by: valves with a simple harpe and a sclerotized central area, connected by a ridge to the base of the costa; saccus elongated triangularly.

Distribution. This species distributed in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Turkey and widely distributed in Iran (see Map 2 in Rajaei Sh. et al., 2011).
