Xylophis stenorhynchus

Xylophis stenorhynchus (Günther's mountain snake) is a species of snake found in the Western Ghats of India.^[1]^[2]

The status of Xylophis indicus as a junior synonym of X. stenorhynchus is tentative as it is only known from one specimen collected more than a century ago.^[1]^[3] However, there is a tentative recent sighting from the Meghamalai Wildlife Sanctuary.^[4]

Xylophis stenorhynchus est une espèce de serpents de la famille des Xenodermatidae^[1].

Répartition

Cette espèce est endémique de l'État du Tamil Nadu en Inde^[1]. Elle se rencontre vers 1 200 m d'altitude dans les Ghâts occidentaux.

Taxinomie

Xylophis indicus^[2] a été placée en synonymie avec Xylophis stenorhynchus par Boulenger en 1890^[3]
