Suberect or prostrate, annual
herbs. Leaves alternate, pinnatifid. Capitula terminal,
leaf-opposed or 3-6 together in terminal corymbs, heterogamous, disciform; outer florets female; disk
florets bisexual. Phyllaries subequal, 1-2-seriate; margin of
inner phyllaries membranous. Corolla yellow; lobes
of bisexual disk florets very spreading and rotate. Achenes
with or without a cartilaginous apex, sometimes constricted
between achene and apex. Pappus of numerous, minute,
scale-like teeth.
