Plants annual, 50-60 cm tall, glabrous. Stem erect, striate when dry, branched. Leaves alternate; petiole 1.5-3 cm; leaf blade oblong or ovate-oblong, 7-13 × 2.5-4 cm, lateral veins 7-9 pairs, membranous, base broadly cuneate or rounded, with 1 or 2 pairs of globose glands, margin crenate-serrate, teeth mucronulate, apex acuminate or caudate-acuminate. Inflorescences in upper leaf axils, 2- or 3-flowered, sometimes with 1 abortive flower; peduncles conspicuously shorter than leaves. Pedicels 1-2 cm, bracteate at middle or above middle; bracts persistent, ovate, 3-4 mm, apex long acuminate. Flowers pink, 2-2.5 cm wide. Lateral sepals 4; outer 2: obliquely ovate, ca. 7 × 5 mm, 5-7-veined, apex shortly acute; inner 2: narrowly oblong, ca. 6 × 1.5 mm, apex obtuse. Lower sepal red spotted, broadly funnelform, 2.5-2.8 cm; mouth oblique, ca. 1.5 cm, tip acuminate, apex mucronulate, abruptly narrowed into a curved, 2-fid spur 0.8-1 cm. Upper petal suborbicular, ca. 1.1 × 1 cm, apex retuse, cuspidate, abaxial midvein slightly thickened, inconspicuously carinate; lateral united petals ± clawed, 2.2-2.3 cm, 2-lobed; basal lobes suboblong; distal lobes dolabriform, apex obtuse; auricle inflexed, suborbicular. Filaments linear, ca. 6 mm, apex dilated; anthers ovoid, apex acute. Ovary fusiform, 3-4 mm. Capsule linear-cylindric, 2.5-3 cm. Seeds many, brown, oblong-globose, ca. 4 mm, rugose, apex rostellate.
