Impatiens tubulosa Hemsl. ex Forb. & Hemsl.

Plants annual, 30-40 cm tall. Stem erect, robust, succulent, simple, glabrous, swollen in lower nodes. Leaves alternate, lower leaves withering at anthesis, upper leaves often crowded; petiole 0.5-1.5 cm, stout; leaf blade gray-green abaxially, green adaxially, lanceolate or oblong-lanceolate, 6-13 × 2-3 cm, glabrous, lateral veins 7-9(-11) pairs, base cuneate, decurrent, margin crenate-denticulate, teeth mucronulate, apex acuminate or long acuminate. Inflorescences racemose, 3- or 4(or 5)-flowered; peduncles robust, strict, 2-4 cm. Pedicels 2-4 cm, bracteate at base; bracts caducous at fruiting, ovate-lanceolate, 5-7 mm, membranous. Flowers yellow. Lateral sepals 4; outer 2: obliquely ovate, 5-6 mm, apex acute, abaxial midvein narrowly winged; inner 2: narrowly lanceolate or linear-lanceolate, 0.9-1 cm, apex long acuminate. Lower sepal saccate, gradually narrowed into a recurved spur ca. 2 cm; mouth oblique, tip mucronulate. Upper petal obovate-elliptic, ca. 1 cm, apex rostellate, abaxial midvein green, narrowly carinate; lateral united petals shortly clawed, ca. 1.5 cm, 2-lobed; basal lobes oblong, small; distal lobes obovate; auricle absent. Filaments linear; anthers ovoid, apex obtuse. Ovary erect, fusiform. Capsule clavate, 2-2.5 cm, swollen at upper part. Seeds 3 or 4, brownish, oblong-globose, 4-5 mm, smooth. Fl. Aug-Dec.
