Description of Lankesterellidae
provided by BioPedia
Adeleorine coccidia, two hosts, merogony, gamogony, and sporogony all occur in a vertebrate gut, in connective tissue, and/or in visceral tissues; no sporocysts are formed; dormant sporozoites exit from the thin-walled oocysts in situ and enter blood cells; the sporozoites are then ingested by mites, diptera, or leeches.
