Protists known only as an amoeboid stage, reportedly with discoid mitochondrial cirstae (Page, 1988). Morphologically very similar to Guttulinopsis (subclass Guttulinia) but fruiting bodies have not been seen in culture. Produces smooth, oval or spherical cysts. Monotypic genus. From freshwater, forest litter and the rectum of Natrix natrix.
