Cells solitary or united to form linear or dendroid colony; lorica funnel-shaped, constructed of numerous rod-shaped costal strips and with anterior projections (11-17); 2 or more bands of equally spaced transverse costal strips encircle the lorica chamber; 30-40 longitudinal costae are continuous with an aggregated pedicel; division nudiform; epiphytic, marine and brackish waters; most abundant at nearshore localities.
