Distribution

provided by World Register of Marine Species
Andaman Islands, Christmas Is, Indian Ocean; Straits of Makassar, the Moluccas, Vietnam, The Philippine Islands, Okinawa, Japan, Papua New Guinea and other localities in the Pacific Ocean with the Tuamotus as the eastern limit. A record from Réunion Island (Merle et al. 2011: pl. 79, fig. 3) is considered doubtful by Houart et al. (2021) because N. triqueter was otherwise never recorded from the western Indian Ocean.
