Cynomys mexicanus (Mexican Prairie Dog) is a species of rodents in the family Sciuridae. They are listed as endangered by IUCN and in cites appendix i. They are native to The Nearctic. They are diurnal herbivores. Individuals can grow to 341.09 mm. They have parental care (paternal care and female provides care).
